MDOT to finish up Marquette Township road work starting next week

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Michigan Department of Transportation will resume work on the Marquette Township reconstruction project Monday.

The project replaced signaled intersections with roundabouts at Brickyard Road and at County Road 492 near Walmart and Target. Work remaining on the two-year project includes constructing grassy medians, building a pedestrian path from Target Drive to Wright Street, removing temporary access drives, and landscaping.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Officials estimate the project will be completed by June 19.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
