Person rescued from cave at Marquette park

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette City Fire Department was called to rescue an individual at Presque Isle Park Monday. 

Firefighters were dispatched just before 10 p.m. on a report that a victim was stuck in a cave near the water by the observation deck. A rescuer was lowered on a rope to the victim, who was put into a harness. The victim was tethered to the rescuer and both were hoisted up.

No injuries were reported.

The Marquette Police Department assisted at the scene.

 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
