Latest Habitat home to be built in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING, MI--   Marquette County Habitat for Humanity broke ground on its 107th house Wednesday.

The home is being built on Silver Street in Ishpeming.

Since 1992, Habitat has partnered with families to construct new affordable housing in the county. Partnering families are required to put at least

250 hours of sweat equity into their home build, alongside Habitat staff and volunteers. Officials say once the house is completed the family is set up with an affordable mortgage, giving them a solid financial foundation and secure housing.

To volunteer or find out how to apply for a Habitat partner home, call 228-3578 or email info@mqthabitat.org.
