Road work starts near Skandia this week

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— A road project on US-41 in Skandia Township starts Tuesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to resurface about six miles of the highway from south of the M-94 East Junction to north of Kunde Road.

Signs and preliminary work are slated to begin Tuesday. Tree clearing begins Friday, and major work is expected to begin on May 15.

One lane of alternating traffic will be open on US-41 using traffic regulators. The project will be completed around September 15.
