PESHTIGO, MI— A Marinette County resident has been arrested for possessing child sexually abusive material.

In January, detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Following the execution of the search warrant, one suspect was taken into custody.

The Sheriff's Office referred 23 counts of possession of child sexually abusive material to the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending formal charges.

Assisting in the case were the City of Marinette Police Department, City of Peshtigo Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice-DCI-Digital Evidence Unit.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
