Two killed in Escanaba multiple-vehicle crash

ESCANABA, MI— On Thursday, 11/25/21, at approximately 5:49 pm, Escanaba Public Safety responded to the 1600 block of North Lincoln Rd for the report of a multiple vehicle personal injury accident with entrapment.

Due to the location and severity of the accident scene, traffic was detoured and N. Lincoln Rd was closed in that area for approximately four hours. During that time the Michigan State Police reconstructed the accident scene and the incident is still under investigation at this time.

The traffic crash resulted in two fatalities and another seven occupants of the three vehicle crash were transported to medical facilities by Rampart EMS or Guardian Flight.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending notification of family.

Escanaba Public Safety was assisted during this incident by the Delta County Central Dispatch, Michigan State Police, Delta County Sheriff's Department, Rampart EMS, Guardian Flight, Ford River Fire Department, Escanaba Township Fire Department, Delta County Victim Services Unit, Delta County Road Commission and Gene's Towing.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
