SUV/semi crash injures Gladstone woman

WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI— A Gladstone woman was seriously injured in a crash between an SUV and a semi Thursday.

Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post say it happened around 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of US-2/41 and Lake Bluff Road in Wells Township.

A white SUV driven by a 72-year-old Gladstone woman was northbound on the highway and trying to turn left on Lake Bluff Road when she turned into the path of a southbound semi driven by a 57-year-old Wisconsin man.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
