ESCANABA, MI — A fire at Escanaba’s A & L Iron and Metal Friday was quickly extinguished.
According to The Daily Press, Escanaba Public Safety responded at approximately 11:24 a.m. Friday to A & L Iron and Metal on 9th Avenue North on report of a large fire. An Escanaba Public Safety officer was on patrol and noticed thick, black smoke coming from the vicinity of A & L. The fire was coming from a large pile of scrap metal behind the business. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported. Escanaba Public Safety was assisted by the Ford River Volunteer Fire Department and the Delta County Central Dispatch Center.
