Driver injured in single-vehicle accident; faces OWI charges

Marquette Township, MI - One person was injured and is facing charges following a one-vehicle accident in Marquette Township.

Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies say the accident happened Friday evening on County Road HQ near US-41 West near the Target store. A 29-year old male was driving south on County Road HQ when he lost control of his Jeep Laredo. The Jeep left the roadway and collided with several trees. The driver was evaluated by Marquette EMS and Fire and later treated for non-life threatening injuries at UPHS Marquette. Troopers say he faces possible charges of Operating While Intoxicated. Nitrous Oxide is suspected to be a contributing factor in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Department was assited at the scene by Marquette Fire, Marquette Township EMS, and Marquette Detailing.
