One dead in Marinette County two-vehicle crash

Marinette County, WI - One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Marinette County. County Dispatch received a report of the crash on US-41 near Highway M in the Town of Grover Saturday morning at about 12:48. The investigation of the crash indicated a vehicle, driven by 30-year old Javier Jose Mejias Guerra, was traveling north in the southbound lane on US-41 when he collided head-on with a southbound vehicle, driven by 20-year old Barbara Gualsaqui-Cabascango, of Chicago, Illinois. Mejias Guerra suffered fatal injuries in the accident. Gualsaqui-Cabascango sustained minor injuries.

Troopers say alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident which remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Peshtigo Police Department, Marinette Police Department, Grover-Porterfield Fire Department, Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area EMS, and 180-Auto Towing and Recovery.
