Traffic fatality in Menominee County

MENOMINEE COUNTY, MI--   One person is reported dead and another injured, following a single-vehicle accident in Menominee County. 

The Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened Sunday around 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of Range Line Road and M-35.  Upon arrival deputies found the vehicle in the ditch and fully engulfed in flames. 

A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver was taken to Bay Area Medical Center, then airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, where their condition is unknown. 

No names have yet been released. 

The accident remains under investigation.    

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
