ISHPEMING, MI-- Ishpeming Police are investigating a hit-and-run traffic accident in the city over the weekend.
Officials say the crash happened Friday around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and US-41. A southbound vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Ishpeming woman pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Champion woman. The southbound vehicle then fled the scene, but was later stopped by officers on Greenwood Avenue near Cooper Lake Road. The driver was taken to Marquette General Hospital for possible head trauma. The driver of the westbound vehicle was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation and criminal charges could be pending.
