Officials say a semi-truck eastbound on US-41 in Negaunee Township was slowing down to turn left when it was struck from behind by the bike.  The driver of the motorcycle—Anthony Eagle, 46—was killed in the crash.  The driver of the semi—Robert Young, 56, of Escanaba—was not injured.

Eagle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
