Marquette pedestrian struck

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man is injured, after he was struck by a vehicle in the city Thursday night.  

Police say the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Front and Main Streets.  A vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Marquette man was southbound when he hit the 60-year-old pedestrian. 

The victim was taken to Marquette General Hospital with a possible broken leg.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured. 

The accident remains under investigation, and no tickets have been issued. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
