Boy killed in Wisconsin four-wheeler accident

MIDDLE INLET, WI--   One boy is dead and another injured, following an ATV accident in Marinette County.

The Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Sunday around 10 a.m. in the town of Middle Inlet.  Deputies say the 10-year-old driver failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection of Rueff Road and Creek Road and the four-wheeler was struck by a pickup truck.

One of the boys was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other 10-year-old was taken to Bay Area Medical Center, then transferred to a Green Bay Hospital, where at last report he remained in critical condition.  Neither the 60-year-old driver of the truck nor his passenger were injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
