Illinois woman dies in Wisconsin snowmobile crash

ST. GERMAIN, WI (AP)--   Authorities in northern Wisconsin say a 40-year-old woman from Illinois was killed when she crashed her snowmobile.

WSAW-TV in Wausau reports that the accident happened Monday night in the Town of St. Germain. The Vilas County Sheriff's Department says the woman failed to negotiate a curve and rolled her snowmobile down an embankment. She died of internal injuries.

The woman was a resident of Morton, Illinois. Her name has not been released.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
