Deputies look for driver involved in crash near Marquette Culver's

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department is searching for the driver involved in a personal injury crash in Marquette Township.

Deputies say the incident happened Thursday at 4 p.m. on US-41 near the Culver's restaurant driveway.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Nicole Carr, 22, of Marquette was eastbound on the highway when a white, full-size Ford four-door pickup truck moved into her lane, forcing her to leave the highway.  The Jeep traveled over a rock berm in the Culver's driveway and into the Red Lobster parking lot, then came to rest next to the restaurant.

Carr was not injured in the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who saw the crash or can identify the driver of the pickup truck to call the department at 225-8460.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
