BERGLAND TOWNSHIP, MI-- An Iowa man is injured, following a snowmobile accident in Ontonagon County.
State Police from the Wakefield Post say the incident happened Friday afternoon around 4:25 Eastern on Lake Gogebic in Bergland Township.
The 35-year-old man was southbound on the lake when his snowmobile hit an ice heave. Witnesses say the man flew from the machine about ten feet into the air and landed hard on the ice. They say he was unconscious for a few minutes.
Ambulances and the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. The man was taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital with unknown injuries.
