Crash in Nahma Township claims one life

NAHMA TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Rapid River man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash in Delta County.

Troopers from the Gladstone Post say the accident happened Sunday around 1 a.m. on US-2 near JJ.5 Road in Nahma Township.

A vehicle driven by Ryan Harper, 23, of Rapid River was westbound when it crossed the centerline and was broad-sided by an eastbound vehicle driven by Ricky Moulds, 57, of Escanaba.

Moulds was transported to Marquette General Hospital for treatment.  Harper was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
