Downstate woman dies in Chippewa County snowmobile accident

TROUT LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Authorities in the Eastern U.P. say a woman from Lower Michigan has been killed in a snowmobile crash, one of four such deaths in the state over two days.

Chippewa County Sheriff Robert Savoie says it happened Saturday in Trout Lake Township, about 25 miles north-northwest of St. Ignace.  He says Terri Tarzwell-Klee, 48, lost control on a curve and hit a tree.

She was from Deckerville in Michigan's thumb and died at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
