Driver dies in Chippewa County crash

BRIMLEY, MI--   One person is dead, following a single-vehicle crash in Chippewa County.  

State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post say the accident happened Sunday around 5:40 a.m. on 6 Mile Road near Brimley.  Troopers found a vehicle had run off the roadway, overturned, and struck several trees.  A person presumed to be the driver was found deceased inside the vehicle. 

No further information will be released until the next-of-kin is notified.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Bay Mills Police Department, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol, Bay Mills Emergency Connection Ambulance, and the Superior Township Fire Department. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
