Five die in holiday accidents

LANSING, MI (AP)--   State police say their preliminary count shows that five people lost their lives in four separate traffic crashes during the 2013 Memorial Day holiday weekend. That's down from 10 who died over last year's holiday.

State police said Wednesday that two of those who died during this year's holiday weekend were wearing seat belts. They say alcohol was involved in at least two of the crashes.

The 2013 Memorial Day holiday weekend ran from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Monday.
