UPDATE: M-35 reopened after accident

UPDATE, 2:52pm -- State Police say M-35 near County Road 476 in Richmond Township is now fully open to traffic.

UPDATE, 9:15 a.m.--   State Police say the northbound lane of M-35 is now open, but the southbound lane remains closed.  A power line is on the road about two miles south of County Road 476.

RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, MI--   A portion of M-35 in Marquette County is closed due to a power line across the road.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post say an accident brought the line down between Fran’s Gas Station in Palmer and County Road MI.

Motorists are advised to take an alternate route, as there is no estimated time when the road will be reopened.

The Richmond Township Fire Department is assisting troopers at the scene.

For more information, call the Negaunee Post at 475-9922.
