21-month-old falls from window in Calumet, dies

CALUMET, Mich. (AP) — Police say a 21-month-old boy has died after falling out of a second-story window at his home in Houghton County.
The Daily Mining Gazette of Houghton reports Maison Ryan Arthur Williams died Friday at a hospital after falling Thursday night in Calumet.
Police Chief David Outinen says the child was about to watch a movie with his mother at their home when she went downstairs to take dinner out of the oven. Within minutes, authorities say neighbors notified her that the child had fallen from the window.
Outinen says the child apparently got on the back of a couch and fell against a screen. Outinen said he doesn't anticipate charges in the case.
