Officials continue investigation of motorcycle fatality

FELCH TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a Bark River man.

Deputies say Saturday around 11:30 p.m. Riley Klee, 21, was westbound on M-69 near Quarry Road in Felch Township when he lost control of the bike.  The motorcycle struck a guardrail on the north side of the road and went airborne, ejecting Klee and his male passenger.

Klee was pronounced dead at the scene.  His passenger was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officials believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.  Neither rider was wearing a helmet.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
