Charges being considered in Sands Township ORV accident

SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person has been injured in an ORV crash in Sands Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened Saturday around 1:21 p.m. on Silver Creek Drive.  A 38-year-old man was driving a Yard Sport side-by-side with 4- and 6-year-old passengers when he made a sharp U-turn.  He lost control of the ORV, which rolled over onto its side.

The driver sustained a broken wrist.  His young passengers were not injured.

No one was wearing a seat belt or a helmet at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Officials say charges are pending.
