Man driving lawnmower hit by car

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Delta County man is injured, after he was struck by a car while trying to cross the road on his lawnmower. 

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened Monday around

4:40 p.m. on K Road in Ford River Township.  Deputies say Richard Eagle, 74, was operating the lawnmower when he was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by Dakota Swisher, 19. 

The extent of Eagle’s injuries is unknown. 

The accident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
