Breitung Township snowmobile crash claims man's life

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, MI--   A snowmobiler has died in a Dickinson County accident.

State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say the crash happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on Pine Mountain Road near Lucas Road in Breitung Township.  Troopers say Chad Schlenvogt, 37, of Port Washington, Wisconsin had apparently been northbound on the western side of the road when he tried to cross back onto Pine Mountain Road and struck a guard rail.  The snowmobile overturned and ejected Schlenvogt, who was discovered unconscious on the side of the road by a passerby.

Attempts to revive him failed.

Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
