POWELL TOWNSHIP, MI-- An Indiana man has been injured in a snowmobile accident in Powell Township.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Friday around 5 p.m. on Trail 14, nearly six miles northwest of County Road AAA.
Deputies say John Conway, 70, of Hammond, Indiana was eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The snowmobile left the trail and struck a group of trees.
Conway received upper-body injuries and was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment.
Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but speed may have been.
