Wisconsin man dies in snowmobile crash

BURT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — The body of a Wisconsin man was found along a trail in Michigan's Upper Peninsula after the snowmobile he was operating crashed into a tree.
Michigan State Police have identified the victim as 41-year-old Paul Gau of Franklin.
Snowmobilers found his body Thursday morning in Alger County's Burt Township. Investigators were trying to determine if the crash occurred Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Police say it appears Gau hit the tree after going off the trail. The crash is under investigation.
