State troopers investigating single vehicle accident in Mapleridge Township

Delta County, MI - State police are investigating a single vehicle accident in Delta County. Troopers say the accident happened at about 9:39 Saturday night on West Mapleridge Road near Evergreen Road in Mapleridge Township. A vehicle driven by a 41-year old Rock resident crossed the centerline and ran off the road striking several trees. Both the driver and a 36-year old female passenger from Negaunee had to extricated from the vehicle using ‘jaws’ and were taken to Marquette General Hospital with serious injuries. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time. Troopers say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation

State police were assisted at the scene by Rampart and Forsyth Ambulance, Rock EMS, Tri Township Fire, Delta County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Gene’s Towing.
