Woman crashes car in Dickinson County

FELCH, MI--   A Gladstone woman suffered only minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Felch.

State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say the accident happened Monday around 4:25 p.m. on M-69 near Kelly Road.  Troopers say Anita Stockham, 79, apparently fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of her car.  The vehicle went off the roadway, hit an embankment, crossed Kelly road, hit a telephone pole, and flipped over.

Troopers say Stockham was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which saved her from serious injury.

Alcohol is not a factor in the accident.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
