Pregnant woman slightly injured in Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A pregnant woman was taken for evaluation at UP Health System Marquette following a two-vehicle accident in Marquette Township Thursday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on US-41 in front of Red Lobster.  A Ford Focus driven by Wendy Collier, 38, of Chatham apparently hit the passenger side of a Sierra pickup truck driven by Scott Olson, 49, of Gwinn.  Olson’s rear-seat passenger, Shasta Campbell, 29, of Gwinn, is eight months pregnant and complained of stomach pains.  She was treated at the hospital.  No other injuries are reported.

Collier was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
