Crash in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in front of Wal-Mart in Marquette Township.  

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened Thursday around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and County Road HQ.  A minivan driven by Patrick Hamblin, 18, of Marquette disregarded a flashing red light while crossing the highway and struck a car driven by Vidhya Nadarajan, 18, of Marquette. 

A female passenger in Hamblin’s vehicle was taken to UP Health System Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

Hamblin was cited for disregarding a flashing red light. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
