Deer causes motorcycle accident

SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette motorcyclist is injured after he crashed into a deer on County Road 553. 

The Sheriff’s Department says Daniel Hendrickson, 33, was southbound Thursday around 7:50 a.m. just south of County Road NH when a deer jumped into his path.  The motorcycle slid on the road, throwing Hendrickson into the ditch.  He was wearing a helmet at the time.

Hendrickson was taken to UP Health System Marquette and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
