Ishpeming driver causes accident in Chocolay Township

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people have been injured in a two-vehicle accident in Chocolay Township.

Police say the crash happened Thursday around 5:10 p.m. on M-28 at Hiawatha.  A Subaru driven by a 24-year-old Ishpeming man tried to enter the highway but didn’t see an oncoming eastbound vehicle and pulled into its path.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle—a 32-year-old man from Rochester Hills—and his passenger were taken to UP Health System Marquette for treatment.  No one in the Subaru was injured.

The driver of the Subaru was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
