No injuries in Negaunee crash

NEGAUNEE, MI--   A driver is lucky to be alive, following a rollover accident in Negaunee.

The 37-year-old man was eastbound on County Road 480 Monday around 2:30 p.m. when he lost control of his truck.  The vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and hit some trees.

Police say a seat belt likely saved the driver’s life.  He walked away from the crash without injuries.

The driver, a Menominee resident, was subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Distracted driving is believed to have caused the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
