St. Paul snowmobile rider injured in Houghton County

TWIN LAKES, MI--   A Minnesota man was injured in a single-snowmobile accident in Houghton County Monday. 

The Sheriff’s Office says the St. Paul resident was northbound on Trail No. 3 around 4:10 p.m. about a mile north of Twin Lakes when he lost control of his machine.  The snowmobile struck an embankment on the side of the trail, veered across the trail and hit a tree.  The driver was thrown from his machine and struck another tree.

The man was taken to UPHS-Portage for treatment of leg injuries. 

Adams Township First Responders, the Twin Lakes Rescue Unit, and Mercy Ambulance assisted at the scene.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
