Wisconsin man dies while kayaking on Michigan river

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (AP)--   A Wisconsin man has died in Michigan's western Upper Peninsula after suffering a head injury while kayaking on the Black River. 

State police say 49-year-old Clint Mabie of Hurley, Wisconsin, was with a group of kayakers Saturday in Ironwood Township in Gogebic County. No other details about the incident were released.

Troopers and sheriff's deputies were joined by a search-and-rescue team and officers from the Department of Natural Resources.
