Three vehicles involved in Marquette Township accident

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Another crash has been reported at a Marquette Township intersection.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says three vehicles were involved in the accident on US-41 at Brickyard Road Monday.

Just before 6 p.m. an eastbound Elantra driven by Clifton Howard, 23, of Marquette rear-ended a Chevy Silverado driven by John Clements, 66, of L’Anse, which was stopped at the red light.  The force of the impact pushed the Silverado into the back of a Mazda driven by Richard Cox, 63, of Ishpeming.

No injuries are reported.

Howard was cited for speeding.

The eastbound and westbound lanes were reduced to one lane each for about half an hour.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
