Two injured in motorcycle-deer crash

WAUCEDAH TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured when their motorcycle hit a deer in Dickinson County Wednesday night.

WLUC-TV says it happened on Hamilton Lakes Road near Tower Road in Waucedah Township around 10:20 p.m.

The driver, a 50-year-old Loretto resident, suffered life-threatening injuries but is expected to recover.  His 45-year-old passenger was not seriously injured.

Officials say the driver was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
