Child nearly drowns in Little Trout Lake

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--    An 8-year-old boy with autism is hospitalized after he was pulled from Little Trout Lake in Forsyth Township Sunday evening. 

Township Police say just before 5 p.m. IzayahPedrin of Curtis was rescued from the water and CPR was begun by family and nearby citizens until emergency personnel arrived. 

Pedrin was taken to U.P. Health System Marquette, then flown to U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he is currently listed in critical condition.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
