Menominee woman found dead in Delta County harbor

GLADSTONE, MI--   Michigan State Police are investigating the death of a woman found on a boat in Gladstone Harbor.

Troopers say Gladstone Public Safety officers responded shortly before noon Wednesday to a report of an unresponsive woman in a boat on the water.  She had been sleeping in the boat the night before but was found unresponsive when her companion awoke.  Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is identified as Lael Snow, 31, of Menominee.  Troopers say drowning was not the cause of death, but how she died remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
