Accident lands Trailblazer in Negaunee Township creek

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette woman escaped injury when her vehicle rolled over and landed in a creek in Negaunee Township.

Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies say Monday around 10 a.m. Margaret Wendrick, 52, was driving a Chevy Trailblazer northbound on Morgan Meadows Road near County Road 492 when she lost control on the slippery roadway.  The vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, rolled over, and landed upright in Morgan Creek.

Marquette Township Fire personnel assisted Wendrick out of her vehicle.

The Trailblazer sustained extensive damage.

No citations were issued, but Wendrick was found at fault for driving too fast for conditions.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
