FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Chassell man has been killed in a head-on crash in Houghton County’s Franklin Township.

WLUC-TV reports the accident between a pickup truck and a Honda Accord happened Monday around 7:50 a.m. on M-26 near Coal Dock Road.  The 21-year-old driver of the Honda and his girlfriend were ejected from the car.  They were taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, then airlifted to Aspirus Wausau in Wisconsin.  The driver later died of his injuries.

The 63-year-old pickup driver—a Dollar Bay man—had to be extricated from the truck with the Jaws of Life.  He and two passengers were taken to Aspirus Keweenaw.  One was transferred to UPHS Marquette for treatment.  A third passenger—a 6-year-old boy—wasn’t injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
