Pedestrian hit by car in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Police Department is looking for witnesses to a car/pedestrian accident that happened Wednesday.  

Officers say around 6:50 p.m. someone was walking across the 300 block of South Front Street when they were hit by a southbound vehicle.  The driver didn’t stop. 

The suspect vehicle is described as a red or possibly white minivan.

The pedestrian was taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time. 

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call Marquette Police at 228-0400.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
