MUNISING, MI-- A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter from Traverse City rescued a woman from the Pictured Rocks ice caves Friday evening.
Officials say the woman had been climbing the ice when she fell. Due to the location and terrain a ground rescue wasn’t possible. An air crew hoisted the injured climber out and took her to Munising Memorial Hospital.
The unnamed woman suffered injuries to her head and back.
