Three vehicles involved in Marquette Township crash

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Three people were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash in Marquette Township Wednesday.

Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. to US-41 West near Wright Street. They say Ashley McIntire, 18, of Marquette was westbound in a pickup truck when she merged into the left lane. That forced a vehicle driven by William O’Connor, 65, of Ishpeming to take evasive action and hit a station wagon driven by Christina Knepp, 24, of Sault Ste. Marie that was stopped in a median crossing.

Knepp, her passenger, and a passenger in the O’Connor vehicle were taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

McIntire was ticketed for improper lane use.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
