Motorcycle crashes in Seney

SENEY, MI--   A downstate couple has been injured in a motorcycle accident in Seney.

Troopers from the St. Ignace Post were called Sunday around 2:30 p.m. to M-28 near M-77. A motorcycle driven by Robert Wydeck, 63, of Grand Haven was westbound on M-28 when he suffered some kind of medical event, lost control, and ran off the northern shoulder of the road. Both he and his 63-year-old wife Kathleen were thrown from the motorcycle as it collided with a road sign.

Robert Wydeck—who was as not wearing a helmet—was airlifted to UPHS Marquette. His wife—who was wearing a helmet—was taken to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
