NIAGARA, WI--   The frozen body of a 19-year-old Houghton man has been found in Niagara, Wisconsin.

WLUC-TV says the unidentified man had been driving back to the U.P. but hadn’t contacted anyone in 24 hours.

Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve says a citizen found an abandoned vehicle Sunday afternoon on a snowmobile trail off of Barlow Lake Road and Brown Spur. A search was initiated and firefighters found a body that matched the missing man’s description around 8:30 p.m. Law enforcement officers met up with firefighters and they carried the body out.

The remains were turned over to the Marinette County Coroner.

The man’s name has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
